Daily Reading : Joshua 1:7-9.
Key Verse : Matthew 5: 6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.”
In preparing the nation of Israel to enter into the Promised Land, Joshua was equipped by the Lord with a command written in Joshua 1:7-9. Joshua and all of the Israelites should not forget to declare, meditate, and do the Lord’s commands that are written in the Book of the Law. If they did do it, then the Lord guaranteed good fortune and success in their journey. Besides that, they also had to take caution because there were signs from the scripture that they had to follow. Similar to Joshua, we need to hunger and thirst after the Word of God, not only on Sundays, but everyday. We need to be in a position where if we do not read the Word of God for only one day, we will feel like something is lacking in the day. The Word of God is the wellspring of life that will fulfill our soul and spirit. This is why, if anyone has a dry heart, their soul is pining, and their spirit is not on fire, quickly read and meditate on the Word of God fervently each day.
The Word of God is the lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
