Daily Verses: 2 Chronicles 20 : 1 – 28
Key Verse : 2 Chronicles 20 : 22 : Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
King Jehoshaphat was one of the most famous kings of Judah in his time. He was someone who feared the Lord and who ruled over his nation according to the Lord’s command. At one point in King Jehoshaphat’s rule, the nations of Ammon and Moab decided to wage war against Judah. King Jehoshaphat began to gather his people to pray and fast together in order to seek the face of God. The Lord answered their prayers and advised them to not be afraid, for the Lord would fight on their behalf. The next day, they joyfully went off to war while praising the Lord with cheer. Amazingly, when they praised the Lord and let out a cheer, the Lord defeated their enemies. They experienced a huge victory, and were even able to loot their enemies for 3 days!
The power of praise and worship is capable of tearing down the strongholds of the enemy in an instant
I will faithfully attend Harp & Bowl Night every month because I believe that the praise and worship I lift up will bring the visitation of the Lord to my life.
Acts 16 : 25-26 : But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
I will pray together with my family and lift up praise and worship to God.
