Hebrews 12 : 2 : “ looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…”

Without a clear and strong focus, we will never be able to accomplish anything. In this life journey, the difficult times and troubles we face can shift our focus in trusting the Lord for His plan and promises that are already prepared for believers. Don’t let our focus be directed to this condition.

For that, we need to learn how to maintain our focus and faith in Jesus. For every believer of Jesus Christ, we are in the race of faith and the Lord will seek for firm, strong and unshakable faith, also in the midst of shaking and spiritual warfare that are happening. In this race of faith, we must direct our focus on Jesus and surrender fully on His will for our trials and troubles. And at the end, we can experience victory and fullness of joy. This race is like a test of faith as we live in this world; it must be done with diligence and patience. In this race, we must also throw away sins that hinder our focus and instead, direct our eyes, life and heart to Jesus.

Learn from Apostle Paul. Even though he was faced with various challenges, he continued to focus his attention on the heavenly calling because he knew that God has a reward for those who are faithful until the end. This is the promise of God’s Word we must strongly hold onto as believers. A wrong focus will direct us to the end of the wrong direction and unaccomplished God’s plan in our lives. These days, let us make sure together: are we already on the right path, directing our eyes on Christ? As difficult as our problem might be, or as bad as our past might be, don’t look back anymore. But, direct our focus to the front because Jesus Himself said: No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9 : 62).

Let us run this race of faith with eyes focused on Christ and seize the crown that has already been prepared for us. Praise the name of the Lord.
