Daily Verses: Matthew 26:36-46.
Key Verse: 1 Peter 1:14: as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance.
The Lord Jesus had given us an example on obedience. In the last moment before His crucifixion, the Lord Jesus felt sorrowful and distressed and even to the point where He even wanted to die. Amid His distress, He prayed to the Father in Heaven: “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” The Lord Jesus’ obedience to die on the cross has saved millions of people from eternal damnation in hell. The meaning of obedience is to do what has been told. Many children of God claim that it is difficult to live an obedient life to the Lord and His Word because as humans, we still have the lust of the flesh. In actuality, to be obedient is a choice. If we choose to be obedient, then we can defeat the lust of the flesh. Being able to be obedient in one matter can guide us to the next obedience and at the end, we can be obedient to the Lord in all aspects of our life. Obedience to the Lord will provide us with directions and guidance in our life, which will protect us from harmful things. Our obedience to the Lord is also a sign of our love for Him. Those of us who are parents know how happy we get when our kids obey our rules and our God is the same way. He is pleased with his kids who are obedient.
Being obedient in the Lord will bring many miracles to our lives.
