TO LIVE IN REPENTANCE

I READ: Judges 13 – 14, 16

From his mother’s womb, Samson was already chosen by God to be the judge over Israel.  He lived in his calling up to one point when he fell in love with a Philistine woman who did not know the Lord.  He married her even though his parents did not approve.  He then separated from his wife and started to have relationships with other Philistine women.  He committed adultery and did not want to repent from his sin.  In the end, he was ensnared by a Philistine woman named Delilah, who brought him to the defeat against the Philistines.  Samson missed all of the opportunities that the Lord provided for him to become the judge of Israel.  He died in the hands of his enemies, the Philistines.  Why did he miss all of the great opportunities in His life?  It was because he continued to live in sin and did not want to repent and leave behind his sins.

I DECLARE:  1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
