Daily Verses : Hebrews 7 : 17 – 28
Key Verse : Hebrews 7 : 25 : Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Last Thursday, we learned the reason why Jesus had to ascend to heaven. Today, we will learn another reason why He ascended to heaven. Jesus went up to heaven so He can be our intercessor before the Father. In the NKJV bible translation, it says that Jesus became our intercessor. At this moment, Jesus is interceding for us before the Father in heaven. Sometimes, we feel like we are alone and it seems like there is no one praying for us. We feel that we have to bear our lives by ourselves. We forget that there is a God who truly loves us; He always prays for us and is with us. More than that, He didn’t only become our intercessor, but He also became our defender when the devil comes to accuse us. He will stand between us and the devil and help us. Jesus is our guard/keeper who never sleeps. He always watches over us and prays for us. How calm and peaceful our hearts are when we realize that there is someone who is always watching and protecting us.
Our guard, the Lord Jesus, never sleeps. Whether it is day or night, a storm or a bright day, He is always with us.
