Daily Verses: Ephesians 6: 10-14.
Key Verse: Ephesians 6:14: Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
In the above reading, it says that we as children of God need to put on the full armor (not just partially) of God that we will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The first part of the armor of God is truth. Truth refers to a person whose sins have been forgiven by the blood of Jesus. Besides that, truth also means that we need to have a life that is founded on the Word of God (Psalm 119:105). The verse above states that we must gird our waist with truth. Everyone knows that the main purpose of a belt/gird is to make sure that our clothes stay on and continue to cover our body. Therefore, if we gird our waist with truth, then that truth will also guard and cover both our physical and spiritual life. The truth will make it easy for us to avoid sin, live a holy life, be Christ’s good witness. The truth will also give us strength to stand firm among man and rulers of the darkness that often try to condemn God’s children.
When our heart and mind is fully controlled by the Word of God (truth), then we will be delivered from sin and offense.
