Daily Verses : James 4:6-10
Key Verse : James 4:7 : Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
There are many Christians who are afraid of the devil and even more, their lives are often disturbed by the devil. These people feel that they cannot defeat the devil and are very dependent on a servant of God or pastor to release them from the devil’s target. Actually, every child of God must know that the devil has been defeated by the Lord Jesus on the cross and he no longer has the power to disturb the lives of God’s children. The Lord has given power to His children to defeat the devil but often times, that power cannot work due to the absence of faith and a few other factors hindering it. James 4:6-8 says a few requirements to have total victory over the devil, which are: to be humble/not proud (verse 6), to submit to God meaning to obey and honor Him (verse 7) and to be near to God, with cleansed hands and pure hearts (verse 8). If we fulfill these requirements, then without even fighting hard, the devil will flee from our lives. We need to be aware that the devil does not have power over our lives and he cannot fail God’s wonderful plan for each of His children.
Have a life that’s pleasing to the Lord, then the devil will not be able to disturb our lives.
