BE ON GUARD

I READ: Luke 19 : 41 – 44, Matthew 25 : 1 – 13

When Jesus visited Jerusalem, the Jews hailed Him there. All rejoiced, praised, and worshiped Him for all the miracles that He performed. They spread their clothes on the street and waved palm fronds to greet Jesus who was riding a donkey. After the crowd disappeared, Jesus went up to the Mount Olives, saw Jerusalem from there, and wept over the city because it would perish for not knowing when God would visit it. How can we know when God is visiting us? We can learn from the story of the five wise and five foolish virgins. The wise prepared themselves with the lamp and oil but the foolish didn’t do anything. When the Lord came to visit them, only the wise were ready because their lamps were on.

I DECLARE: Matthew 25:13 -Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
