THE LORD OF PEACE

I READ: Judges 6:22-24, Ephesians 2:14-17

The Lord is God of peace.  He is the source of our peace. The Israelites during the time of the judges were subjected to pressure from the Midianites. And when they could no longer bear it they cried out to the Lord. The Lord then chose Gideon to be the judge of the Israelites and told him to fight against the Midianites. But Gideon was frightened by the Lord’s command. The Lord did not allow Gideon to drown in his fears, but instead He gave him a promise and peace.  God’s promise strengthened Gideon’s heart, so he could go to war and defeated the Midianites. After that, the Israelites experienced peace throughout Gideon’s reign. Like Gideon, the Lord gives us deliverance from fear and anxiety and gives us victory and peace.

I DECLARE: John 20:21 –  So Jesus said to them again, “ Peace to you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you”
