Overcome Evil With Good

Romans 12:21:”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.“

There are many evil things in this world. It is getting worse because evil is usually returned with evil. War happens because the two sides take revenge. Killings happen because there are parties who hate one another and become vengeful.

War, killing, human trafficking, rape, and other kinds of evil tend to make us hate the people who do those evil things. We cannot overcome evil by attacking it. Actually, in the midst of this world that is becoming more evil and darker, the light of Christ needs to shine through the lives of God’s children and His church. It is now time for God’s church to shine and stand on the Biblical truth.

At this time, the church’s focus should not only be on the inside. But, we have to look outside and see the needs outside of the church’s wall. God’s children cannot only focus on their own needs, but they need to start fulfilling the outside needs. Evil that is tyrannizing can only be overcome with good.

The good that can be done by God’s children are: praying for the restoration of relationships, helping the poor, taking care for the sick, praying for those who are in need, and helping those who are lacking. Through the good we do, people will see Christ’s love and it will attract them to believe in the Lord.

The good we do does not only give a positive impact for others and the community, but it can also make a positive impact for ourselves. Like the Word God says, we reap what we sow. Therefore, if we often sow goodness, then we will reap much goodness.

Approaching the Lord Jesus’ second coming, let us diligently do good, not only to our families and fellow believers, but for all people.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:16.  God bless.
