Immanuel – God with us

Philippians 4:6 : ” Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”.

Christmas imminent, can we truly celebrate Christmas with a joyful heart even when we are under pressure though? The answer, we can rejoice, no matter how big or small the problem that we are facing now, we can welcome Christmas with a joyful heart.

As believers in Jesus, we are truly grateful for before Jesus was born into the world, HE has been foretold by the prophet Isaiah: “verily, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel” which means: God with us. Jesus was born into the world will be with us in the struggle that we face, God who we worship is always with us and did not leave us alone.

So how to not dissolve in worry? Let’s build an intimacy with God every day, because the presence of Jesus will eliminate worries and make peace. Take the decision to: “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). If we remain dissolving in worry, it will hurt ourselves. We’re not going to grow and advance, even our circumstances will get worse. When a person continues in anxiety, in his life certainly no gratitude, only complaints and murmurs. In order for worries to disappear, we must direct our eyes to the Lord Jesus and believe in Him with all your heart, that Jesus is God with us, He is Immanuel. Although we are confronted by naked eye on the test, distress, suffering, persecution and so on, no need to dissolve in anxiety: “For we walk by faith, not by sight-” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Note also the travel history of the nation of Israel out of Egypt into the Promised Land. Despite having to pass through the arid desert and heat for 40 years, they never lack. God takes care and accompany them with His magical way: pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire always overshadowed them, as they were thirsty, the Lord provides water, when hungry He sent manna (bread of heaven) and also quail, He is Immanuel to the Israelites also for us who believe in Him.

Let’s put this time to draw us closer to God even more, then the peace of God will fill your trouble heart, and received by faith God’s grace and help in time, sense God’s presence in our lives in a state of good and bad.

Let’s welcome Christmas with a heart full of peace and joy. He is Immanuel with us from now until forever. Praise the name of the Lord Jesus.
