Double Blessings

Joel 2:23:” Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you— the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

We are in the year of Ayin Zayin. One of the meanings of Zayin is harvest. Apart from a great harvest of souls to happen, every one of God’s children who truly loves the Lord will experience all kinds of harvest in their lives. The harvest we will receive talks about blessings, abundance, wonders, restoration – in double portion. Double harvest can happen because of God’s promise in Joel 2:23 that He will send down the former and the latter rain, which will result in the harvest to be doubled.

A farmer has to know what he needs to do so that they can produce good harvest. First, he needs to have a good seed to sow on the ground. Second, he needs to know how much of the seeds he must sow, because the amount of seeds sown determines how much the harvest will be. Third, he needs to know when to sow the seed (know the season).

The same requirement is needed for us to experience harvest/double blessings. We have to sow a good seed. Sowing, in this context, talks about giving financially, giving our talent, time and energy for the Lord and others. The more and the better we give in all of these aspects, the more harvest we will receive. Good and plentiful seeds will result in abundance.

A farmer knows the season to sow. For God’s children, this is the year (Ayin Zayin) where we need to sow. Don’t be overwhelmed with the needs of life; if we are moved by the Lord to give, do it in obedience. When we are obedient, the Lord will send down the former and the latter rain so that the seeds we have sown result in double harvest.

Isaac received harvest in a hundred-fold because he was obedient when God told him to sow. The rain from God made Isaac’s seed grow fruitfully and thus, result in abundant harvest.

The Word of God in Joel 2:26 says “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame.” Sowing obediently with good seeds and at the right time/season will make us full with blessings, and our mouths will be filled with rejoicing and praises. God bless.
