WATCH YOUR HEART AND MOUTH

I READ: James 3:8-12, Matthew 15:18-19

We need to keep our lives holy to stay watchful until the Lord comes. One way to do it is by watching what we say. How often in a day do we use words that are not pleasing to God? We use words to complain, criticize, and say dirty words, etc. How often in a day do we declare the Word of God and use it to bless and pray? It’s important to be watchful with our words for every word spoken in vain will cancel out the power of the Word we declared. The Word of God says that it’s impossible that out of the same mouth springs out blessings and curses that inevitably will go in vain. Just like written in Proverbs 4:23, we need to keep our hearts pure so that we may also speak words of blessing that build up our and each other’s lives.

I DECLARE: Proverbs 4:23 – Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
