I READ : 1 Samuel 17 : 20 – 37
In facing the battle against Goliath, David was not discouraged at all. Despite facing opponents much larger than him, David strongly believed in his Lord, that He will be with him and give him victory. Why was he so confident? Because he has had previous personal experiences with God, how God was with him at the time he fought the lion and the bear, while he was taking care of his flock, verses 35-36. How can we have a personal experience with God? We have to have fellowship with God as David did. David continued to worship God and meditated on His law when he was tending and herding his sheep. This made David’s faith stronger.
