Daily Verses : Psalm 127:1-2
Key Verse : Psalm 127 : 2b : … For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Someone who is tired needs sleep to restore his/her strength that was lost because of work, exercise or even a heavy struggle. We need sleep so that when we wake up, we will be restored again and are able to work again with new strength. But the reality is, it will be difficult for someone to sleep because of feeling too tired or the burden of life is too heavy. Jesus once said: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). Jesus is the key for us to be able to rest/sleep. When Jesus died on the cross, He said: “It is finished.” He has borne all the things that are supposed to be suffered by us: sicknesses, fears, mockery, curses and punishment for our sins. Our part is to believe by resting in Christ’s finished work on the cross for us and receive all the blessings that have been prepared by faith.
Don’t be dragged by the world to the point we are chased by time, redeem the time that is there by resting a lot in His presence.
