I READ: 2 Timothy 1;2 Timothy 2:1-13
Paul reminded Timothy, his disciple, to always stand strong in preaching the gospel. Paul taught Timothy that in order to be strong, he needed to live in God’s grace, in the love of God and the power of His cross. God’s grace will strengthen Timothy to be bold and unashamedly testify about God. Timothy was reminded by Paul that sometimes as a soldier of God preaching the gospel, there will be hardships that he will have to endure. What does hardship mean in this context? It means not to focus ourselves on our own problems, but rather on the things that are pleasing to our leader, which is Jesus. Paul also comforted Timothy to always be patient because the Lord is a faithful God, He will always be with him.
I DECLARE: 2 Timothy 2:1 – You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?
I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
