I READ: Matthew 17:14-21
At times, when we pray for someone, we feel a very burden because we know that it is not easy to evangelize to him/her. In our prayers, we need spiritual breakthroughs filled with the power of God in order to reach them. That is why we need to also fast. Jesus gave the same advice to His disciples when they were having a difficult time praying for the child who was possessed by the devil and who had epilepsy. Jesus told them to pray and fast so that the child will experience breakthrough and be freed. Isaiah 58 says that prayer and fasting is to loose the bonds of wickedness and to undo the heavy burdens.
I DECLARE: Isaiah 58:6 – Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness,to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?
I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
