PRAYER AND FASTING

I READ: Isaiah 58:6-7, Matthew 17:14-21

Often times when we pray for someone, it feels like it’s a big burden.  The person that we are praying for may be hard headed and not easy to evangelize to.  We need a spiritual breakthrough in order to get through to them.  That is when we need to do more than just interceding for them.  We need to pray breakthrough prayers that are full of God’s power in order to get through these souls.  We need to accompany our prayers with fasting.  Jesus gave the same advice to His disciples when they they were having a difficult time praying for the child who was possessed by the devil and who had epilepsy.  He advised them to pray and fast so that the boy could experience a breakthrough.

I DECLARE: Isaiah 58:6 – Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY:Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
