LOVE IS NOT EASILY ANGERED

Daily Verses: Luke 15:11-32.

Key Verse: James 1:19: “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.”

In the parable of the prodigal son, the older son was outraged; he was angry that his father had allowed his brother to return and even more disturbing was the gifts that were bestowed. His outrage caused him to not able to see the great love and blessings that his father had given him all those years. The story of the older son often happens in the lives of God’s children. God’s goodness, love, blessings and guidance through our entire lives often forgotten and omitted because of our anger, perhaps due to unanswered prayer(s) or unfortunate events. When the anger takes control, that individual is blinded by negativity. Medical science states that when someone gets angry, the Cortisol Enzyme within its body will replicate many times over and these excess enzyme can cause many illnesses. Because of that reason, when anger takes over, we have to control ourselves by remaining calm and do not let the sun set while you are still angry.

Do not be controlled by anger, but take control of your anger by remembering God’s goodness.
