I READ: Daniel 3:1–30
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were cast into the fiery furnace because they refused to worship the gold image of King Nebuchadnezzar. They insisted on only praising and worshipping the Lord of heaven and earth. Their faith and love for God were really amazing. Nowadays, we also see many children of God who are being persecuted and experiencing problems because of what they do for God. Some of them may be fired because they do not want to work on Sundays. Some of them may not be promoted because they refuse to change their beliefs. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s action showed that God took priority in their lives. They said, “Even if the Lord doesn’t help us, we won’t worship any other God.” Because of how they responded, God defended them and saved them from the fiery furnace. From this story, we can see that when our focus is on Jesus Christ, then no matter how big our problems may be, He will take care of them for us.
I DECLARE: Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?
I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
