DIVINE JOY

Daily Verse: John 15: 9 – 11, Nehemiah 8 : 10

Key Verse: Nehemiah 8: 10b: Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

What differentiates the joy offered by this world with joy that comes from the Lord Himself? We all know that the joy offered by the world is temporary and very much influenced by the situations and conditions surrounding us. Often times we realize that this kind of joy is very dependent on the “mood” of our hearts. However, the joy from the Lord is everlasting and is not affected one bit by our situation, conditions or even the “mood” of our heart. Even in the midst of the storms we might currently face, we will be able to stand strong through it all and be filled with thanksgiving if we have the divine joy of the Lord in our hearts. God’s word says that when we delight in the Lord, He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). The secret to a successful life is to rejoice in the Lord always.

To have joy is a choice: Look at the glass as half full and not as half empty; focus on the positive rather than the negative.

Daily Action :

Today I will worship the Lord until I feel the Lord’s present with me. I will give thanks because this causes my heart to be filled with joy.

Daily Prayer :

I will pray for my VIP List (my list of people who do not yet know the Lord) fervently until their lives are touched by the Lord and they are saved.
