CHURCH IN LAODICEA

I READ: Revelation 3:14-22

The church in Laodicea was one of the churches that did not receive praise from the Lord Jesus.  They were a complacent church; a lukewarm church.  This church claimed to know God, filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, possessed the ability to create miracles and rebuke evil spirits.  In reality, God said to them that they were detestable, wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.  The Lord Jesus was not the center of their lives and they only went after the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Matthew 7:22-23 explains that those who are rich with the gifts of Holy Spirit may not have God’s knowledge.  So the key is to know God.  The more we know our God, His grace will flow freely and abundantly in our lives.  We will become a prosperous, successful, and glory-filled church.

I DECLARE:  Ephesians 3:18–19 – may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with the fullness of God.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
