Daily Verses : 1 Thessalonians 5
Key Verse : 1 Thessalonians 5 : 2,6 : for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.…So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
Apostle Paul reminds us in the last chapter of 1 Thessalonians that the Lord Jesus will come suddenly at an unknown time, so we need to always be watchful of His return. The Lord reminds us, through this verse to always be watchful, so our spirit can always be on fire, verse 19. How can this happen? We need to live in faith and love, verse 8, meaning we need to always trust that the Lord will protect us and live in His love and grace, so we can love one another. Apart from that, we need to always rejoice and give thanks and faithfully pray, verse 16-18. Whatever is happening in our life, good or bad we should always give thanks and trust that in the end everything will be good. Increase your level of intimacy with the Lord by praying, praising and worshipping the Lord, along with meditating, declaring and doing His Word. One other thing to keep our spirit burning is to guard our holiness by staying away from living a life that is disorderly and evil, verses 14-15.
Let your spirit burn like fire, waiting on the Lord everyday as if today is the day of His return.
Daily Action :
Today I will seriously pray, more than yesterday, and tomorrow I will pray more seriously than today and so on so that my Spirit will always be on fire.
Daily Declaration :
1 Thessalonians 5 : 23 : Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Daily Prayer :
I am going to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open up opportunities for me so that I can start to testify to people who do not know about the Lord Jesus. I will say words of blessings to every single person I meet today.
