Preparation to Become Christ’s Bride

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7

Like someone who is engaged and waiting for their wedding day, the same goes for God’s church – we as His bride waiting to meet our bridegroom, Christ. This is a beautiful moment that has not happened on earth or in heaven, where the Lamb (the Lord Jesus Christ) as the bridegroom is united with His bride, His holy and faithful church. This occurrence is called the marriage of the Lamb. It happens to His church who has grown mature spiritually and has been faithful until the end. This will happen after the church is raptured to welcome the Lord.

The requirement to be His bride includes being born again and having a repentant attitude. Being born again is signified with the attitude of believing in the Lord and turning to Him and making Jesus as the ruler of our lives. Believing in Jesus means surrendering our lives to Him and depending on Him in every aspect of our lives. To live in obedience and holiness before the Lord. The Bible says that a righteous and holy life is symbolized as soft linen, which is put on His bride. It is God’s will that when we meet Him, we give Him our spirit, soul and body which are blameless.

God’s purpose in choosing and saving us is not only to live a righteous and holy life. More than that, it is so that we can be used as tools to reveal His glory in this world. God wants us to be His partners to bring His kingdom to this earth. Therefore, we minister the Lord according to our calling, talents and gifts that were given to us to multiply.

We do not know when the Lord Jesus will come to take His church. That is why every believer must always be ready. As we wait for the beautiful moment to happen, we are asked to be watchful. Why? Because there are many things that can take us out from God’s perfect plan. Challenges, temptations and trials that we often experience can take us out from our faithfulness in the Lord.

A believer’s ultimate purpose is to meet Jesus and be His bride. It is our responsibility to prepare ourselves for that big day. God bless.
