Live in The Holy Spirit

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:7-8

When Jesus sent His disciples, He gave them a few commandments. According to the two verses above, there are 5 commandments: spread the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out demons.

When Jesus became human, He was 100% human. But, how was He able to do the 5 things mentioned above so amazingly during His ministry on earth? The secret is because Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit is God himself; He works with a limitless power within Jesus!

The good news is when we are born again, we receive the same Holy Spirit and He lives in us. When we are baptized by the Holy Spirit, He will equip us with power and anointing. With this, we have the same potential to walk and live like Jesus did. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12

The question now is, why do we often doubt that we are not able to do great works like Jesus did when He was living in this world? The first reason is because of fear and unbelief. We are often afraid to fail before we start trying. Because of that fear, we often feel that if it does not happen, we will end up feeling embarrassed; or we are not bold enough to pray for someone because we fear of being rejected when in reality, we have not even tried yet.

The second reason us we are too intimidated. We often feel we are not worthy to experience it. It is usually because of a sin or mistake we have not taken care of yet. Because of that, our conscience starts to condemn us. That is why let us leave behind every burden and sin that are holding us (Hebrews 12:1). Live in holiness and righteousness. Believe in the grace of God in our lives.

Third reason us we do not want to serve the Lord. When God’s people are willing to be used for His glory, His power will be revealed. We will not be able to see that power if we only stay still – satisfied with being a faithful congregation or being an audience in the race of faith. Therefore, let us go, spread a gospel and perform wonders! We are in the last season of the Third Pentecost era, where God has promised to pour out His Spirit amazingly. Amen.
