God’s Love Never Ceases

Lamentations 3 : 22-23 : “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail no. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

There are many love stories in this world, but God’s love is very different than the one of the world. Christ’s love is great, wide, deep and high; it’s incomprehensible. Apostle Paul prays so that we are rooted in love and have the knowledge of love, which is Jesus himself (Ephesians 3:17-19). As we enter 2016, God leads His church to live in intimacy with Him and to know His love even more. He wants His church living in the end times to do His first and great commandment – to love the Lord with all of our hearts.

When we meditate on it, we realize how great God’s love is in our lives. Day by day, month by month, even year by year, God’s love for us never changes. We truly cannot measure how wide, how deep and how high is His love. God’s love “never ceases” – this means His love continues to overflow forevermore. For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever, Psalm 117:2. The worldly love is temporary; it easily changes and is very dependent on situation and condition. But, God’s love cannot be influenced by anything. We cannot even influence God’s love with our good deeds. The Lord loved us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8).

God’s love is “perfect” – this means His love is truly complete and whole. Don’t ever measure His love with the situation we experience, but remember and meditate on Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. The work of the cross is proof how perfect God’s love is for us.

God’s love is “unconditional.” We love because God first loved us, 1 John 4:19. His love is different than the world’s love, which is conditional and often only loves those who love them. But God loves us so much, He gave His one and only Son, Jesus, to die for us. Nothing in this world can separate us from God’s love.

Let us set aside time everyday to build back our relationship with Jesus. The more we know Him, the more we will know His love that never ceases. Jesus longs to pour out His blessings and love to us in this New Year so that we may experience the fullness of God’s promise and experience complete restoration in every area of our lives. God bless.
