I READ: Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 6:1-8
Newborn Christians should be baptized by water before continuing their spiritual journeys with God. It’s important that we reaffirm what we believe with a prophetic action. We should proclaim to the world that we are followers of Christ. Water baptism also signifies a new life in Christ where we start living a new lifestyle that’s different from our past sinful nature. When we’re baptized, we leave our old ways of living that are buried in the tomb together with Christ. We’re then resurrected and experience a new life with Him. Baptism defeats the power of sin in our lives so that the devil no longer is able to keep us in bondage.
I DECLARE: Romans 6:6 – Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
