VISIONS AND DREAMS

I READ: Acts 16:8 – 15

God can speak to us through visions and dreams. Like the story we read today, Paul got a vision from God that a man of Macedonia pleaded with him to come over and preach the gospel to them. Paul responded to the voice of the Lord and set out for Macedonia. And sure enough, there, the Lord opened a woman’s heart, by the name of Lydia, to heed the things spoken by Paul. Lydia and her whole household were baptized. How can we know that certain dreams and visions are indeed from God? If they’re from God, we’re going to have peace in our hearts, Colossians 3:15. If the dreams and visions that we receive actually make us afraid and we’re not at peace with them, that means that they’re not from God.

I DECLARE: Joel 2:28 – And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
