TRAINED IN DOING WORKS

Daily Reading: Genesis 39.

Key Verse: Proverbs 10:4: He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Joseph experienced deterioration in his “position” during his life. He went from the most beloved son into a slave then a convict. Even though his life deteriorated, God was always with him and whatever he did was successful. This success was given to Joseph because he was someone who was well trained in doing work. He always gave his best when trusted with a responsibility or task and he never complained. Because of those characteristics, Joseph was restored, lifted up, and became a young king in Egypt.
It is God’s desire for us to be a person who is well trained to do work. We need to have the following characteristics in order to be well trained to do His works – hardworking, not giving up easily, and skilled. We need to be well trained not just in the field of our job but also in our study, ministry, doing kindness, and giving. We have to believe that the Lord’s blessing will follow us if we do well and maximize everything that God has trusted with.

A slack and diligent hand will result in a satisfying fruit of labor.
