I READ: Matthew 13:18-23
God can speak to us through His Word. When we open up our hearts as we read the Word and receive It with joy, the Holy Spirit will make us understand the Word. When we understand, it is a sign we hear the Word. Often the Word that we read may become a rhema for us, meaning it speaks very strongly to us and suits our needs. Therefore, when we read the Word, make sure that our heart is ready to receive It so that His Word will speak to us. As we are reading the Word of God, if we are in a state of worried, afraid, or angry, we won’t be able to accept His Word. As a result, His Word will be stolen from our hearts just like a bird that steals seeds that fall on the ground.
