SAMSON

I READ: Judges 13: 1-5, 14: 1-3, 16: 15-22, 28-31

Today we learn from a biblical figure named Samson. Ever since he was in his mother’s womb, the Lord had already chosen him to become a judge over Israel. He lived in his calling until one day, his heart was attracted to a Philistine woman who did not know the Lord. He married that woman even though his parents did not bless it. Then, he separated from his wife and started to play around with other Philistine women. He committed the sin of adultery and did not want to repent from his sin. In the end, he was deceived by a Philistine woman named Delilah, who brought him into defeat over the Philistines. Samson lost all the opportunities the Lord had given him to be a judge over Israel throughout his life. He died young in the hands of the Philistines. What happened in his life was very unfortunate. Why did he lose all the good opportunities and the Lord’s visitation in his life? Because he continued to live in sin and did not want to repent and leave all of his sins. And at the end, his sins deceived him until his death.

I DECLARE: 1 John 1: 9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I DO: I will pray and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness for every sin that I still do until today and ask for the Holy Spirit to give me His power so that I can leave those sins.

I PRAY: I will pray with my family and ask for the Holy Spirit to anoint our family again with His power.
