REST IN THE LORD

I READ: Psalm 127:1-5

A tired person needs to rest to restore his/her strength which he/she lost due work or exercise or even because of a heavy struggle. Although it would be hard for us to sleep when we are too tired or are carrying a heavy the burden in our life, we need to force ourselves to sleep. When we wake up we are refreshed and are able to work again with new strength. Jesus once said: “Come to me all those who are weary and heavy burdened, I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. Jesus is the key for us to be able to rest. When Jesus died on the cross, He said: “It is finished”. He has endured all that we must suffer: sickness, fear, ridicule, curse, and punishment for human sin. Our part is to believe in the work of the cross, focus on Jesus as the center of our lives and receive his blessings with faith.

I DECLARE: Matthew 11:28 – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
