PERSEVERING IN PRAYER

I READ: Acts 1:4-9, Acts 2:1-4

Before Jesus ascended into heaven; He gave instruction to His disciples to remain in Jerusalem to expect God’s promise.  Initially, there were about 500 disciples who heard His mandate as written in 1 Corinthians 15:6. They returned to Jerusalem and got together in prayer; in one accord.  After a period of time, a large number of the disciples left the group disappointed.  Out of the original 500 disciples, there were 120 left and they continued to pray and waited patiently, Acts 1:15.  On the tenth day, suddenly the Holy Spirit was outpoured.  They were baptized and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.  380 disciples didn’t get the chance to experience it.  They were left out and missed the moment.

I DECLARE: Acts 1:14 – These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
