Daily Verses : Colossians 3 : 1 – 11
Key Verse : Colossians 3 : 10 : and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
Apostle Paul taught us, God’s church, that if we have believed in Jesus and His work on the cross, then we will be a new creation, 2 Corinthians 5 : 17. This means that our whole life must be new in Him, starting from our spirit, our heart, our mind, our lifestyle, etc. We need to be a new man. We will no longer be bothered by the matters of this world, but we will always think of heavenly matters. For if we set our mind on the kingdom of heaven, then the Lord will resolve all of our worldly matters, Matthew 6 : 33. It is more fitting for us to think more about our relationship with the Lord, the ministry that the Lord has entrusted us with, the harvest of souls, the restoration of a city and nation, and other heavenly matters. As a new man, we will no longer live a worldly way because all of that is part of our old self. Every worldly thing, such as evil desires, idolatry, covetousness, anger, filthy language, lies, and everything else need to be put to death, verse 5-9. Live in the Lord’s holiness.
As the ugly silkworm cocoon transforms into a beautiful butterfly, we too need to leave behind our old self and become a new person that is filled with God’s glory.
