Key Verse: Ephesians 5:2: “And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
The love of the Father for His people was shown when He sacrificed Jesus to die on the cross, so that whoever believes in Jesus will be saved from eternal death in hell.
It is inevitable that if we love someone, there is a strong impulse in our heart to want to sacrifice for that person. This type of sacrifice will be done easily and with a joyful heart. If we say that we have Christ in our heart, then we are willing to sacrifice for God and for others. When we start to feel that it is hard to sacrifice and we tend to count every little thing we do, we should test ourselves again to see if the love in our heart has grown cold. Be careful, don’t allow our love to become cold just as it is written in the word of God in Matthew 24:12: ”And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold”. Pray so that the Lord gives us His love in our heart.
Love can only be complete if it is accompanied by sacrifice.
