LEAVE SIN

I READ: Romans 8 : 1 – 17

Today we learn that when we believe in Jesus, He will free us from the law of sin. And when we surrender ourselves to the Lord fully, the Holy Spirit will enable us to live in the Spirit so that we will put to death our fleshly desires that can result in sin. But, there are still children of God who believe in Jesus, yet they do not want to surrender themselves to the Holy Spirit. They still want to do sinful habits. They have a high tolerance toward sin and they do not have the desire to repent from their sins. They think that God’s grace is great for them and He will surely forgive them. They are playing around with God’s grace in their lives, that Jesus died for them to redeem their sins. Jesus did not think of sin as something light and unimportant, He even died to defeat sin and death. If we, as His children, continue to play around with sin, it means that we do not appreciate the Lord’s redemptive work on the cross. The Lord reminds us to believe in Jesus, but also to surrender our lives fully to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I DECLARE: Romans 8 : 13 : For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

I DO: If there are still sinful habits that I do until today, I will repent and ask the Holy Spirit to enable me to put to death my fleshly desires. I will remember God’s grace because that’s what will bring me to repentance.

I PRAY: I will pray for America in the prayer tower
