JOY

I READ: John 15:9–11, Nehemiah 8:11

What differentiates the joy/happiness that is offered by this world with the joy that comes from God Himself? The joy/happiness that is offered by this world is temporary and it is affected by the situations and conditions that are happening around us. Often times we agree that this type of joy/happiness depends on the “mood” of our heart. However, the joy that comes from God is eternal and is not affected by any situation, condition, or the “mood” of our heart. In the midst of the storms that we face, if we have that true joy in our heart, we will be able to pass through the storms with a peaceful and thankful heart. The Word of God says that if we delight ourselves in the Lord, He will give us the desires of our heart, Psalm 37:4.

I DECLARE: Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
