GUARD YOUR HEART AND MOUTH

I READ: James 3:8 – 12, Matthew 15:18 – 19

One way to inspect our spiritual life is to guard our mouths. How many words do we utter daily that are not pleasing to God? On a daily basis, how many complaints, insults, and unpleasing words are coming out of our mouths? In a single day, how often do we declare the word of God and words of blessings? Always be careful with what we say because every vain word can break the power of the declaration of God that we have uttered. The word of God says that it is amiss to bless and curse from the same mouth, it will cause one of them to be defective. Therefore, to keep our mouths clean, we need to keep our hearts clean. We need to dwell in the presence of God and continue to meditate the word of God to sanctify our hearts.

I DECLARE: Proverbs 4:23: Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

I DO: What actions am I going to take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
