I READ: 2 Samuel 24: 18-24
In giving offerings to God, King David always gave the best to the Lord. He offered the best oxen at the altar of God, not the ones that were bad or blemished. Sometimes he had to pay an expensive price for his offerings to God. Just like what we just read, to build an altar to the lord, David bought the threshing floor from Araunah for a price. Although Araunah wanted to give David the place for free, David refused and preferred to buy it at a high price because he longs to give the best offerings to God. God was pleased with David’s offering that he blessed David and the Israelites. The Lord also withdrew the plague that was supposed to hit Israel.
I DECLARE: 2 Samuel 24:25 – And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.
I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?
