GIVE THANKS ALWAYS

I READ: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22

Today we learn that thanksgiving must come straight from our hearts. We shouldn’t be thankful this week because it’s Thanksgiving week or because we’re in good shape. The Book of Thessalonians teaches us, we need to rejoice and pray always. The combination of joy, prayer, and thanksgiving that comes out of our mouths is very pleasing to God.  Only those who are able to keep the joy and peace in their hearts can lift up  the prayers of thanksgiving.  If we cannot keep the joy and peace, then only complaints and words of no avail will come out of our mouths.  Let us learn to start lifting up thanksgiving, not only in good times, but also in difficult times of our lives.

I DECLARE: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
