I READ: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Why did Jesus die for a span of 3 days? The number 3 symbolizes completeness/perfection. The three days Jesus died completed his redemptive work for us in full. At the cross, Jesus laid down his life to his Father in heaven with the phrase “It is finished” as he lets out his last breath. In Greek, the phrase translates to it is finished completely or perfectly. In addition, the number 3 symbolizes the three different perspectives of time: the past, present, and future. The death and resurrection of Jesus represent the victory He has given us for our past, present, and future. The devil acknowledges our weaknesses. He uses our past failures to condemn and torture us. Through His grace, we have been freed from past failures. Jesus has forgiven us and replaced our failures with a future filled with hope.
I DECLARE: Philippians 3:13-14 – but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?
