I READ: Matthew 25
The 10 virgins in this parable represent the church of God. In this parable, there are 5 wise members of the church and 5 foolish. Why did Jesus call them foolish? because they missed God’s visitation. These 10 virgins were expecting the arrival of Jesus Christ, the bridegroom. But only 5 were allowed to accompany Him to the celebration. How were they able to experience God’s visitation? Because, they have brought lamps and oil. The lamp represents the Word of God as written in Psalms 119:105. The oil represent the anointing of the Holy Spirit as written in Exodus 29:7. As we wait upon the Lord, we must dwell in His words. We also need to be anointed and filled by the Holy Spirit. We must leave the flesh, the lust of this world and sanctify ourselves.
I DECLARE: Romans 8:13 – For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
