COMMIT TO THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART

I READ 1 King 18: 20 – 40

Elijah experienced God’s miracle; how the fire fell from heaven and consumed the burnt sacrifice in front of the children of Israel. It happened because Elijah followed the Lord with all his heart and didn’t falter. Elijah wanted to show the Israelites what happens if they commit to the Lord with their heart. At that time, the Israelites didn’t commit to the Lord with all of their heart, but instead they had another idol, Baal, in their lives. James 4:8 reminds us to draw near to God all the time. He is the only true God. If we still have other idols in our life (things that are more important to us than God), such as our work, our family, our pride, etc., James is reminding us to repent.

I DECLARE: James 4:8: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you double minded.

I DO: What actions am I going to take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
