BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM

Daily Verses : Matthew 25:1-13.

Key Verse : Isaiah 62:5: “For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.”

The Lord likens His children to a bride, whereas the Lord Jesus is the bridegroom. As the bride of Christ, it is only fitting that we prepare ourselves for His soon approaching second coming. Preparation must be done starting today. In order to be His beautiful bride, we need to dress both our soul and spirit. The soul refers to our character, will, and heart’s condition. Do we have the character of Christ, the will that is in line with the Father in Heaven’s will, and a pure heart before the Lord? The spirit refers to an intimate relationship with the Lord, which will cause one’s spirit to be on fire. Surely, in order to be Christ’s spotless and blameless bride, we must put forth a maximal effort. We must diligently spend time with the Lord and continuously deny our own fleshly desires, and be led by the Holy Spirit. Flee from acts of sin in any shape or form. Utilize your senses and body to do good works that are pleasing to the Lord. Everyday, test your heart and ask for forgiveness if there are things that are unworthy. Let us “dress up” as beautiful as possible in welcoming the bridegroom, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord looks at our heart, not our outwardly appearance.
