BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL

Daily Verses: Acts 4:32-37

Key Verse: Matthew 5:7: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”

People today have shifted their focus on the increasing life expenses that they are more reluctant to give and help others. They are anxious of not being able to sufficiently provide for themselves, let alone helping others. However, as children of God, we have to be bold enough to continue practicing mercifulness, regardless of the fact that humans tend to act on the basis of reciprocity. That is, they will act mercifully to those who shown mercy to them. God wants our lives to reflect the early Christians who showed mercy to each other in good and bad times. A merciful person will always give without asking in return, allowing joyfulness and blessings to come upon them. Matthew 5:7 says that “blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” As we give, God will repay us multiple times in ways that we have never expected before.

Let us learn from the early Christians to give and serve with sincere hearts.
