AVOIDED FROM SIN

I READ: Genesis 4:1-16

The Word of God says that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour (1 Peter 5:8). That was exactly what Cain experienced in Genesis 4. He was angry and jealous of his brother, because God accepted Abel’s offering but did not respect Cain’s. Cain’s heart was filled with rage which became a crevice for the devil to rule over Cain which led Cain to kill Abel. The devil will continuously seek that same opportunity so that he can accomplish his goal in leading God’s children into sin. But the devil will not succeed in influencing God’s children who live in obedience. For that reason we need to be obedient to God’s commands and live our lives according to the truth of the Word of God so that we can avoid the devil’s attacks and sin that will lead to our demise.

I DECLARE: Genesis 4:7b – And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it

I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
