Three things that must be done to experience miracles:
1. Do not let yourself not believe in miracles
There was a priest named Zacharias and his wife, Elizabeth. They were believers of the Lord, but Elizabeth was barren. For years they asked for a child; they did this until their old age.
One day when priest Zacharias served in the temple of God and burnt incense, Angel Gabriel appeared to him suddenly and told him that he will be given a son named John. Zacharias was astonished and did not believe, and at that very moment, he became mute until John was born and the Lord enabled him to speak again, Luke 1:5-25.
2.You must believe and take action even if it does not make sense
When Jesus’ disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee, heavy winds were tossing their boat. At around 3 in the morning, Jesus came to them by walking on water. Seeing this, His disciples were in fear and screamed, “Who is walking on water? It is a ghost!” Jesus said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I, do not be afraid!” Then Peter said to him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And Jesus said, “Come!” Peter came out from the boat and walked on water. Miracle happened! Matthew 14:22-33
Another example is Elijah. When there was a drought in Israel, the Lord commanded Elijah to go to Zarephath because there was a widow who will give him food. When he met with the widow, it turns out that she was very poor. Elijah said, “Give me some bread…” then the widow said, “The flour and oil I have left can only be used one more time for my son and I. After that, we will die. How can I give this to you? This is my last bit of food.” Elijah was confused at the time but the Lord tells him to deliver this message for the widow, “The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth. But, you have to give me the bread first.”
I believe that this widow was experiencing a difficult time. Praise the Lord she believed and obeyed so that the bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah. 1 Kings 17:7-16
3. Pride interferes with God’s miracles
There was a commander of the army of the king of Syria named Naaman. He was loved by his master and was always victorious in every battle. He was respected and famous, but he had leprosy. He heard from a captive young girl that in Israel there was a great prophet named Elisha.
Through the king of Israel, he met Elisha. He went to Elisha’s house but Elisha did not welcome him. Elisha sent his messenger saying, “Go and wash yourself in the Jordan River seven times and you will be healed!” Seeing this welcome, Naaman became angry and left. But his servants said to him, “If the prophet had told you to do something difficult, would you not have done it? The prophet only told you to wash yourself seven times.” At that moment, Naaman realized to humble himself and let go of his pride. He went to the Jordan River and washed himself seven times and he was healed from his leprosy. Miracle happened! 2 Kings 5:1-27
