I READ: Revelation 2:12-17
Even though God praised the church in Pergamos because they did not deny their faith in God, there were a few things that God had against them. There were some that were easily deceived by false teachings that did were not aligned with the Word of God. The Word of God says that these false teachings were pleasing to the ears and made many compromise their faith. This happened because they did not have a solid foundation in Christ Jesus which caused them to be easily deceived by the teachings of false prophets. In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus spoke in parables in which he exemplified the lack of our foundation (faith) to a house that is built on top of sand. Sand speaks of a foundation that is weak and unstable, for when the rain, flood, and wind comes, the house will fall.
