Daily Verses : Lukas 10 : 38-42
Key Verse : Lukas 10 : 42 : But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
The story of Martha and Mary presents a great lesson for us to learn from, an example of how we should not miss out on an opportunity/visitation that the Lord may provide in our lives. When Jesus visited Martha’s house, Martha was in the middle of preparing food for Jesus and His disciples. Meanwhile, Mary was simply sitting at the feet of the Lord, hearing the voice of the Lord. Finally, after trying to taking care of everything by herself, Martha became stressed and began to complain to the Lord about Mary. In response, the Lord admonished Martha to do just as Mary had done – to sit at His feet. The Lord reminded Martha not to miss out on a good opportunity to listen to Him. He also reminded Martha not to worry, stress, or busy herself with too many things. That day, Martha missed out on a golden opportunity to sit and speak with the Lord.
Do not let stress, worry, or complaints take control of you so that the Lord’s visitation passes you by without you realizing it.
